Wadebridge Social Club’s generosity raises an estimated £5,000 for Bodmin Hospital

By Chris Gill in Charity

THE Bodmin Hospital League of Friends (BHLF) were delighted when the Wadebridge Social Club committee informed them that the club had selected the Friends as their ‘Charity of the Year’.

After many varied activities over the year 2016 which included walks, bingo sessions, a ‘bed push’ and collection tins on the bar, ‘The Friends’ were not only delighted but amazed when the Club Chairman, Roger Hewitt, handed over the amazing total of £3,921.70p at a ceremony on Sunday 19 February.

The grand total is further advanced by a previous £500 from a walk in early 2015 and will be even further boosted following another walk organised by Club Trustee, Vic Luke on 30 April from Padstow to Stepper Point and back. All are welcome at £10 a head or, better still sponsored by friends! Further details from Vic on 01208 814485.

The possible total of more than £5,000 raised will be well used by the BHLF to provide equipment and services for the staff and patients at Bodmin Hospital not provided by the NHS.
