ST AUSTELL Brewery is continuing its support of Cornwall’s talented cricketers this summer following the renewal of a stump sponsorship for Cornwall Cricket featuring the Brewery’s flagship ale Tribute.
The agreement between the two organisations sees Tribute continuing as the Official Beer of Cornwall Cricket. The famous Tribute branding will appear on the stumps of adult cricket clubs across the county while the sponsorship amount will be distributed amongst those clubs who sign-up to help them with their running costs.
Each month St Austell Brewery will also give a case of its award-winning Cornish pale ale to the player with the most wickets achieved through clean bowling a batsman.
Joe Skinner, Cricket Development Manager for Cornwall Cricket, said: “We’re delighted to be able to continue our association with St Austell Brewery which provides our community cricket clubs with some much-needed financial support. We are proud to be playing such a key role in sustaining the health of the game in the county and we’re looking forward to seeing as many clubs as possible getting involved.”
Marc Bishop, Trade Marketing Manager for St Austell Brewery, said: “St Austell Brewery has a long history of supporting grassroots sport in the region and we’re really happy to be able to carry on offering this great opportunity for local clubs to access some funding to help with the costs of running a club. As a family business, we have always looked to support local sport which plays such a key role in bringing communities together.”
In 2013 Tribute became the main title sponsor of Somerset County Cricket and appears on shirts in all forms of the game. In addition Tribute is the sponsor of Gloucestershire County Cricket team and shirt sponsor of the Gloucestershire T20 team.
St Austell Brewery also supports grassroots rugby in Cornwall, Devon and Somerset as the Official Beer of South West Rugby, sponsoring 14 different leagues and many local teams. Tribute is the main shirt sponsor of Cornwall County Rugby, plus sponsor of the prestigious Cornwall Cup.
