Team Luffarelli get the season off to a good start

By Chris Gill in Motorsport

TEAM Luffarelli started the season as they finished last season; two class M wins for Fabio and two class BT wins for Tyrone. Melissa was back in the seat of the Mini after two years out for study and travel.

The Trevor Marshall built bike engine Mini saw many wins at Westworld which resulted in championship wins for Melissa. She then progressed to circuit racing, winning class M in 2014 and Welsh female driver of the year 2014.

Tyrone jumped in the deep end and in his second year became class BT champion, and Welsh Young Driver of the Year 2016 in his Colin Satchell engineered Peugeot 106 powered by a Sandy Brown engine.

Fabio dragged the VW Corrado out of storage from his 2005 Silhouette championship win. He transformed the car to bike power and is now in a class with Ginetta G50s which have some 200 plus horsepower more than the Corrado but he still manages to split the pack.

The family team would like to give great thanks to the support from local and national businesses: Bott in Bude, Mill Autoquip, Instant Marquees, Sandy Brown Race Engines, Satchell Engineering, Autocross, Quaife, Trevor Marshall Fabrications, Edwards Motorsport (Exhausts) and Demon Tweeks.
