Moorlander Egg-citement at Camelford ARB Unit

By Linden Jones in Charity

THE Moorlanders MCC were delighted to once again visit the Area Resource Base, Polzeath Class at Camelford primary school, to present a cheque from the Easter Egg Run 2017.

Moorlanders and children alike enjoyed the visit - the children having great fun sitting on the bikes, not to mention blowing the horns! Keith Horrell, Chairman, had great pleasure in passing over the cheque of £1,000 to be spent on further equipment for the Unit, which will go towards the continued improvement of the play and learning environment.

Keith commented, “It was wonderful to see the money raised from the Easter Egg Run put to such good use and to see the children enjoying the play equipment so much.”

Ben James, the class teacher said, “The money that the Moorlanders MCC have donated has benefited every child in the ARB. A brand new playground was purchased this year which the children absolutely love. We hope to buy a new summer house for the children to play and read in with this year’s donation. We cannot thank the bikers enough for their generous contributions!”

This year £5,200 was raised for local children’s charities by Moorlanders Egg Run, with £1,000 being presented to each charity. The motorcycle club appreciates that this could not have been achieved without the support of the many bikers joining the Run, local businesses contributing prizes, corporate sponsors, and Widows Sons South West Chapter for assisting in marshalling the event.
