We need your help!! VOTE NOW!

The St Tudy Playing Field Trust is asking for you to vote to help it win a OneFamily Community Award of £25,000 to provide wonderful new equipment for their playground.

OneFamily customers can nominate good causes to benefit from an award of up to £5,000, £10,000 or £25,000. All entries are then open to a public vote and the most popular projects win the funding. The Community Awards are part of the OneFamily Foundation which was created to give OneFamily customers the opportunity to support their local community and the good causes that matter to them and their families.

This year over 400 customers nominated projects to receive funding across the UK with the voting now open to members of the public until 6 September.

Sue Handford, One Family customer, who lives in St Tudy nominated the playground:

“I nominated this playground in memory of Claire Townsend, a mother of 4 young children and pre-school manager at St Tudy pre - school. Claire was much loved, an inspiration and a good friend to many, who absolutely adored children. Claire suddenly and tragically passed away in this year and is already much missed by her family, friends and the community. I hope we can use this funding to make a significant difference.

Guy French, Corporate and Customer Strategy Director at OneFamily, said:

“The OneFamily Community Awards go right to the heart of what being part of a customer-owned business is all about, directly benefitting our customers and the causes closest to their hearts.

“Each year we give hundreds of thousands of pounds to fund projects, making a real difference to the good causes and those that benefit from them. A fantastic range of entries have been nominated this year and all of them are projects that our customers care passionately about. Anyone can vote and those that get the most will win, so I’d encourage everyone to get involved.”

David Holborow, Chairman of the St Tudy Playing Field Trust said:

“I am delighted with this opportunity. Our playground is so dated and we really want to encourage active play. The Playing Field was established in 1932 with the playground established in the 1970s. The play equipment is very tired and uninspiring.

We want to have new equipment that will encourage children to have exciting, outdoor exercise and take them away from digital devices and screen –based entertainment.

There is no disabled equipment. There are children in the parish that are disabled and cannot access the equipment. Those parents and grandparents who have mobility issues cannot help their children play. We want to change this and are so grateful to the One Family Foundation for this opportunity.”

Voting is open from today until Wednesday 6 September, to vote visit
